Section 02

Official installs

Install NetTrace AI from the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Browser Add-ons (AMO). Free capture never requires an account. Need an unpacked or temporary load for development? See the documentation.

Chrome Web Store

Chrome / Chromium

  1. Open the NetTrace AI listing in the Chrome Web Store (use Install on Chrome above or search the store).
  2. Click Add to Chrome and confirm the permission prompt.
  3. Optional: pin the extension from the puzzle icon so it stays on the toolbar.

Brave, Edge, Arc, and other Chromium browsers that support Chrome Web Store extensions use the same listing.

Firefox Browser Add-ons (AMO)

Firefox

  1. Open the NetTrace AI listing on addons.mozilla.org (use Install on Firefox above or search AMO).
  2. Click Add to Firefox and confirm.
  3. Optional: pin NetTrace from the extensions menu for one-click access.

Updates ship through AMO like any signed add-on — no manual reload for day-to-day use.

Premium layer

Direct Cursor & VS Code integration

Upgrade when you want agents to pull structured failures without copy/paste. The IDE companion opens a localhost receiver, registers native language-model tools, and mirrors sessions in the sidebar while MCP clients stay supported. New premium subscriptions include a 30-day trial so you can validate the workflow before billing kicks in.

IDE companion stack

  • > Pair browser extension with a one-time token
  • > Language-model tools: latest failure, reproduction markdown, request drill-down
  • > MCP definitions for clients that cannot use native tools yet
  • > Data never leaves localhost — entitlement only hits the SaaS edge

Free tier stays unlimited for capture + manual copy. Premium unlocks the receiver, device dashboard, and automated agent handoff.

Capability matrix

Everything runs through the extension first. Premium layers on the IDE companion + SaaS controls — never on raw payload exfiltration.

Live request capture

XHR, fetch, documents, websockets — headers, timing, bodies, and errors with automatic sensitive-field masking.

One-click AI context

Select failures or arbitrary requests and copy markdown tuned for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor chat — no DevTools archaeology.

Premium · IDE receiver

Pair the browser extension with the NetTrace IDE companion so failures, clusters, and reproduction markdown flow straight into VS Code or Cursor.

Privacy by architecture

Debug payloads stay on your machine. The cloud app is for accounts, billing, and device tokens — not your traffic.

Failure clustering

Correlate clicks, navigations, and form submits with 4xx/5xx responses and console errors into single “what broke” stories.

Chrome & Firefox

Official MV3 builds on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons (AMO). Install like any other extension — free tier stays local-only.

Execution trace

Consent once, then capture runs locally while you reproduce bugs normally.

Patch faster than they ship bugs

Start free in the browser — no account. Add premium when your agents need native IDE access; new subscriptions include a 30-day trial (see pricing).
